EVENT rules and guidelines
The following event rules and guidelines are intended to help ensure the safety of all participants, to meet the requirements of local Authority permits and to be compliant with UK Athletics, International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) and Trail Running Association regulations for participant performance records and event liability.
Entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE and Outer Edge Events Limited retains the right to refuse entry to anyone declaring false information on their entry form, not making the required payment or otherwise failing to meet the stated entry requirements.
Participant Safety
Each participant must agree to the disclaimer and Terms and Conditions before participating in the event.
All participants take part at their own risk and a disclaimer waiving all claims against Outer Edge Events Limited and any party acting on its behalf must be completed by all entrants.
Participants must carry the mandatory kit-list. Please read the appropriate webpage relating to your event and adhere to the mandatory list of items to carry during the event. No kit, no start. There may be spot checks on the course to enforce this principle. Race Director’s decision is final.
Participants race number bibs are specific personal identifiers and may not be exchanged with, transferred or sold to any other person.
Transfers between runners can only be done through Outer Edge Events Limited and the SiEntries system within the deadline of transfer displayed on the website.. this is strictly 14 days before event date and participants must notify Outer Edge Events Limited in advance of doing this.
We do not offer deferments to future events unless the race has been postponed and any deferments must be actioned in the timescale provided.

LUNDY ISLAND RACE – RACEBOAT ENTRIES No name transfers allowed on the Raceboat entry **
**Should the ferry be cancelled for reasons outside of our control then we will be unable to offer a refund.**
Competitor Withdrawal Policy – Please do not enter the event unless you agree to the terms and conditions below.
JULY 2024 Raceboat – We will refund 75% of the entry fee until 31st December 2023. The refund will then be 50% up until 31st May 2024. No refunds will be provided after 31st May 2024 whatever the circumstances.
NON-RACEBOAT ENTRIES
All entry fees are non-refundable, however name changes are allowed up to 15th June 2024 online via the SiEntries system.

Each entrant must have their own account with SiEntries to enter an event.
An email address is required for all entries and all Raceday correspondence will be sent via email. A separate email address for each participant is required.
To register for a Outer Edge Events Limited event you must be 17 years of age on Raceday to compete in a 10k and 18 years of age for Long half-Marathon and Marathon distances. For an Ultra-marathon, the minimum age on event day is 21 years of age.
Registrants must be capable of completing the full distance within the event cut-off time required. Outer Edge Events are particularly challenging, off road courses and the responsibility falls to you to be prepared for the event you are undertaking.
All participants must provide their full name and details of any health problems or medication upon entry.
All participants confirm that they are happy for their names and any footage or photographs taken during their participation to be used to publicise any Outer Edge Events Limited event.
Registration closure date is set and announced when an event opens for entry. However, if race event is full prior to this date, the registration process will automatically close.
Competitor Withdrawal Policyholder.
All entry fees are non refundable, however names changes are allowed up to a fortnight before Raceday, online via the SiEntries system. Please note the Lundy Island Raceboat entries are subject to a separate Competitor Withdrawal Policy.
We reserve the right to charge an Admin Fee of £10.00 for refunded entries.
Outer Edge Events Limited does not accept postal entries.
Except where otherwise expressly stated in these terms and conditions, Outer Edge Events Limited regret that we cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where our contractual obligations are prevented or affected by, or otherwise suffer any damage or loss as a result of force majeure. In our terms and conditions, ‘force majeure’ means any event which we or the supplier of the service(s) could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include (whether actual or threatened) war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, technical problems, with transport, closures of airports, ports or airspace, changes of schedules by airlines, adverse weather conditions, epidemics, health risks and pandemics, fire, closed or congested airports or ports or similar events outside our control or the control of our suppliers.
Raceday
All participants must check for updates and changes to the Terms and Conditions on a regular basis, including one month and a week prior to event date.
Every participant shall be provided with an event bib number and to be worn, for the duration of the event, on the front of the person
Participants must follow instructions as given from event officials including race staff, volunteers, medical staff, etc throughout the duration of the event. All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner during the event. Any participant who refuses to obey the directions of the event official or course marshal or who conducts himself/herself in an unsportsmanlike manner, or who is offensive by action or language to officials, volunteers, participants or spectators may be disqualified from the event and banned from future participation in any Outer Edge Events Limited event at the discretion of the Race Director.
All Outer Edge Events Limited races must be completed within the required time limits set for each event. Outer Edge Events Limited holds the right to disqualify anyone not making the required race cut off
All participants must acknowledge and agree that personal information (including medical information on Race Bibs or collected by event medical staff during or after the event) can be stored, used and disclosed by the Outer Edge Events Limited in connection with the organisation, promotion and administration of the event and for the compilation of statistical information.
All Outer Edge Events Limited events are running races and any other wheeled device such as baby buggies, rollerblades, etc will not be permitted on the course. Please note that due to the terrain of our running races they are unsuitable for wheelchairs
Any person who participates in the event without a current official event bib number or timing device or a bib or chip not officially assigned to him/her is subject to removal and disqualification from any future Outer Edge Events Limited event. Any participant who has been found by a course marshal, event official or surveillance equipment to have gained an unfair advantage by intentionally shortening the route of the race (“cutting the course”) shall be immediately disqualified from the event and banned from any future Outer Edge Events Limited event at the discretion of Race Director.
No persons are authorised to be on the course unless they are registered participants. Therefore, no person shall be allowed to accompany a participant if they are not registered in the event, nor shall any participant be allowed, without the permission of the event management, to receive assistance or refreshment from anyone during the progress of the event. Any person not properly displaying an authorised and issued bib number shall be directed to leave the course.
A hands-on medical examination during the progress of an event by officially designated medical personnel shall not be considered assistance and will not result in disqualification if participant is deemed medically fit. If a participant becomes ill during or after the event and/or receive medical attention or treatment either from event medical staff, first aid team or any doctor or hospital, they must authorise such persons to provide details (including details of medical treatment) to the medical director of the Outer Edge Events Limited Event or others authorised by him/herself.
Safety
Participants are responsible for their recognition and understanding of event signage and symbols relating to participant maps, facilities and direction.
Outer Edge Events Limited events are organised under UK Athletics rules and therefore mp3 players or other devices plugged into the ear are not advised whilst running for reasons of Health and Safety for both your and other competitors. We strongly advise against the wearing of these devices. When you wear such a device you are unable to hear other competitors, cars, bicycles or marshals instructions. At road sections the devices must be unplugged or risk disqualification from the race.
Medical personnel authorised by the event may examine any participant who appears in distress. If in the sole opinion of authorised medical personnel it is in the best interest of the participant’s health and welfare, medical personnel may remove the participant from the event. Participants must retire at once from race if ordered to do so by a member of the event’s official staff, official medical staff, or any governmental authority, including fire and police officers.
Participants are responsible and assume liability for any and all medical expenses incurred as a result of training for and/or participation in the event, including but not limited to ambulance transport, hospital stays, physician and pharmaceutical goods/services.
Event officials reserve the right to delay, cancel or suspend the race due to inclement weather in accordance with emergency protocol on severe emergencies and/or inclement weather. No refund will be issued in these circumstances. This includes transportation to the event including coaches, trains or ferries
Results
All participants are assigned a chip timing device – this is usually secured around the participants wrist
Clock time (gun/siren time) is the official time recognised for the prize giving. The official times shall be recorded from the start of the race by the starting gun/siren to the point where the participant crosses the finish line. Times shall be rounded to the next highest second
Participants must wear their assigned timing device continuously from start line to finish line, to receive an accurate finish time. Participants with missing timing device times at official checkpoints will be reviewed and may be disqualified.
Official times for mass participants will be the electronic timing device time (chip time) from when the participant crosses the start line to the point where the participant crosses the finish line.
Participants found to be wearing more than one timing chip during the race will be disqualified and their results will not be recorded.
Participants must begin the event during the official recognised starting time in order to register an official course completion time
A full list of results will be published online, on the website www.outeredge-events.com within 48 hours following each race. Full and final results will also be made available to relevant parties for the purposes of verification for other events or for the updating of ranking systems
Merchandise Returns Policy
If for any reason you are not satisfied with your merchandise you may return it within 14 days for exchange or refund providing the goods are unused and have all original tags. We are unable to accept back any goods that have been worn or laundered, unless they are faulty.
SiEntries Event Disclaimer
“I accept the following Terms for my entry. I also accept on behalf of any participants I am entering in this event, all of whom have been provided with a copy of these Terms and accept them.’
“The Participant will abide by UK Athletics rules and will run at their own risk. I doing so, they accept that neither the sponsors, Organisers (Outer Edge Events Limited) or their helpers will become liable for any injury, loss, action or claim, however occasioned, resulting from this event”
Amendments/Modifications
Event officials reserve the right, to modify, supplement or waive all or part of the event rules.
Participants shall be bound by any modification or supplement of the event rules published prior to the event. Failure to follow these event rules, as may be amended, will result in immediate disqualification and removal from official results.

OUTER EDGE ADVENTURES
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The following Terms and Conditions shall apply in respect of all bookings and will form the basis of your contract with Outer Edge Events Limited. When you make a booking with Limited, you undertake that you have the authority to accept and do accept our booking conditions on behalf of yourself and your party. A contract will exist upon accepting any monies from you towards the booking.
1. Booking confirmation
We will confirm your booking on receipt of the deposit of 50% of the price. The deposit is non-refundable except in the event of the booking not being accepted by us for any reason, or if due to unforeseen circumstances outside of our control, and we are unable to provide the Adventure for which you have booked. Payments are made through SiEntries.
Airport transfers are included from Kalamata or Athens airports and the subsequent return to the airport.
A flight from Gatwick to Kalamata or Athens via Easyjet is NOT included in the Outer Edge Adventure. It is YOUR responsibility to the book flights in order to arrive for your transfer in time.
The scheduled Easyjet flights to Kalamata leave London Gatwick airport at 05:35, landing at 11:15am. The transfer back to the airport is 09:30, with the flight scheduled for 12:00pm and arrival into Gatwick at 1:45pm. Other airlines fly to Kalamata, and from different airports, but our transfers only operate with the Easyjet flights out of Gatwick.
If you arrive in Kardamyli by a separate transport method Outer Edge Adventures need to be informed via email to outeredgedirect@gmail.com.
2. Liabilities
Outer Edge Events Limited will not be liable to the client(s):
– for any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of public services at the chosen property or in respect to equipment, appliance or machinery;
– for any loss, damage or injury which is the result of adverse weather conditions, riot, war, strike, or matters beyond the control of Outer Edge Events Limited.
– for any loss, damage or inconvenience caused or suffered by the client(s) if the property should be destroyed or substantially damaged before the start of the Adventure period and in any such event the Company will endeavour to provide suitable alternative accommodation, however this could result in accommodation of lesser quality than originally booked
– for any injury, death or loss (other than the Company’s negligence) suffered to the client(s) on the Adventure
We reserve the right to withdraw or modify, at any time, the arrangements advertised where necessary to do so. In the unlikely event of the accommodation advertised not being available, we will endeavour to provide suitable alternative accommodation.
All reasonable proper steps have been taken to ensure that the accommodation and services are as advertised. We will be responsible for any acts or omissions of our employees and agents whilst acting within the scope of eir employment but cannot be responsible for the acts and omissions of those providing services over which we have no direct control.
Independent suppliers provide many of the services, which make up your Adventure. Those suppliers may provide these services in accordance with their own terms and conditions. Some of these terms and conditions may limit or exclude the suppliers liability to you, usually in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Where they exist, such terms and conditions are incorporated into our contract with you so that, to the fullest extent permitted by law, any exclusions and limitations of liability contained in such terms and conditions apply to our contract with you in relation to which they apply.
3. Responsibilities
Outer Edge Events Limited are not responsible for any loss or damage to personal items nor any personal accident or injury. You are strongly advised to take out personal insurance against cancellation charges, loss or injury. It is your responsibility to organise your own personal travel insurance (check your cover for Covid-19), health insurance and to ensure you have a valid passport for your trip. Please check your passport expiry date to ensure a minimum of 6 months continues after the date of return from Greece.
4. Cancellations
Outer Edge Events Limited is not responsible for any loss incurred due to booked travel using non-changeable or non-refundable tickets.
We work hard to avoid cancellations and changes to Adventures, but due to forward planning involved with our Adventures, this is sometimes unavoidable.
Cancellations by you, the client, must be made in writing to us, by the person who made the booking. Any notice will become effective from the date of receipt of advice to us.
5. Medical and Safety
By taking part in any of Outer Edge Adventures you must;
– confirm that you are in good health and capable of participating in running off-road
- Understand and accept the risks of participating in any physical activity and have consulted a practising medical physician to verify your ability to run. This Adventure is not designed for walkers.
- Agree that no claims are to be made against Outer Edge Events Limited in case of injury, undeclared medical conditions/injuries
- Agree to wear appropriate footwear and clothing at all times whilst taking part in physical activities
6. Force Majeure
Except where otherwise expressly stated in these terms and conditions, Outer Edge Events Limited regret that we cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where our contractual obligations are prevented or affected by, or otherwise suffer any damage or loss as a result of force majeure. 7. Complaints
In the event of any problems during the Adventure, you must report it immediately to our representative on the Adventure and failing satisfactory resolution of the problem; you should file a written report within 14 days of your return. No liability will be accepted for any complaint not reported to our representative at the time and intimated within 14 days thereafter.
8. Privacy
Outer Edge Events Limited respect your personal information and privacy. We do not sell or disclose your information to third parties.
We will hold information supplied by you or other members of your party on SiEntries system for use in connection with your current booking and may keep you updated with future Adventures. If you do not wish us to hold your information on our system when your Adventure has ended, please contact us by email.
Photography and filming may occasionally take place for marketing purposes. Your involvement with Outer Edge Events Limited implies your consent to the use of photographs of you while attending one of our Adventures. If you prefer that such photographs or films not used, please let us know and we would be more than happy to oblige. We cannot guarantee other clients will not take photograph In which you may feature.
9. General
While the website attempts to be as accurate as possible, it should not be relied upon as being comprehensive or error-free. The website is regularly updated and changes are made.
10. Law
The Law of England and Wales shall govern this contract. Any proceedings arising out of or in connection with this contract maybe be brought exclusively in England.

– lightweight waterproof jacket (must have sealed seams)
– Hat/cap/buff
– water bottle(s) or bladder to carry a minimum of one litre
– snacks to sustain you for each day (consider salt tablets too)
– cash for drinks or an emergency
– lightweight backpack 5-12 litre
– whistle (often attached to your bag)
– personal first aid kit (sunscreen, blister pack, etc)
